Corrective Exercise Therapy

Corrective Exercise consists of a series of stretches, manipulations, and exercises to increase range of motion and increase functional movement within joints and tissues. Life exists in three dimensions and once one or more of those dimensions of movement are compromised, symptoms will begin to occur. The more dimensions of movement that are compromised, the more severe the condition will become. Tissues become damaged or torn when all three dimensions of movement are compromised within a joint (i.e. rotator cuff tears, herniated discs, etc.). Corrective exercise focuses on eliminating these compromised dimensions of movement by rebalancing the joints and increasing functional movement, which in turn, can heal damaged tissues over time.
